Helsinki is an awesome location to make your vacation colourful. Drive to Helsinki and get to know the city. Check out our helsinki holiday packages itinerary for more details.
When you arrive at Helsinki-Vantaa airport, pick up your rental car. Drive into Helsinki and take some time to explore the city. We suggest checking out important places like the Senate Square, the Uspenskij Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, the Sibelius Park & Monument, and the Temppeliaukio Church. After your day of exploration, spend the night at your hotel in Helsinki.
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you have some free time to discover more of Helsinki. We suggest checking out the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was built in 1748 and is just a 15-minute ferry ride from Helsinki's Market Square.
After exploring Helsinki, it's time to head to Porvoo, the second oldest town in Finland. We'll take The King's Road, a historic route that dates back to the 1300s and has been used by kings, couriers, bishops, artists, and more. Along the way, you can stop at Haikko Manor, once the home of the famous painter Albert Edelfelt, and the old 15th-century church of Sipoo.
Once you arrive in Porvoo, take a stroll through the charming Old Town. Admire the well-preserved wooden houses, visit the mediaeval church, and explore the Town Hall Square. Your night will be spent at a small, elegant boutique hotel in the heart of Porvoo's picturesque Old Town. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel in Porvoo.
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. Leave Porvoo and head to Turku, which is not only the oldest town in Finland but also a former capital. Turku sits by the Aura River in the southwest, where Finland's recorded history began, and the oldest traces of people living in the area were found.
As you drive to Turku, you'll follow The King's Road. If you're up for it, you can take a little detour to Hanko to see Finland's southernmost point—it's worth the extra kilometres! When you reach Turku, get ready to explore a city known for its lively cultural scene and maritime atmosphere.
We suggest checking out the 13th-century Turku Castle, the open-air and crafts museum at Luostarinmäki, and the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova Museum complex. You might also enjoy a visit to Ruissalo Island and the Botanical Gardens of the University of Turku. Tonight, you'll stay at a hotel in Turku.
Start your day with a short drive to Naantali, often called Finland's official summer holiday city. It's home to the Kultaranta Estate, where the President of Finland spends summers. Kids and families love the Moomin World theme park here. Take a stroll in the Old Town, check out the mediaeval church, and explore the beautiful gardens with 3,500 roses at the Kultaranta Estate.
In the late afternoon, head to Tuusula, conveniently close to Helsinki-Vantaa airport for your departure the next day. Arrive at the Krapi Estate in Tuusula, surrounded by a rich cultural environment. It offers a hotel, restaurants, a sauna without a chimney, and a large park with various activities. Krapi is at the beginning of the first Finnish Museum Road (Tuusula Rantatie), showcasing homes of famous artists from the turn of the century who played a key role in shaping Finnish identity. Spend the night at the hotel in Tuusula.
Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Krapi. If time allows before your flight, explore cultural sights and museums along Tuusulan Rantatie. Drive to Helsinki – Vantaa airport and after returning the car, you will catch your flight.
