Upon arriving at the Mumbai Airport, our tour managers will welcome you and take you to Shirdi, a temple town famous for the Sai Baba Temple. On the way, you will visit the Triambakeshwar Temple in Nashik, believed to house one of the 12 jyotirlingas. Don’t miss the Panchavati Wildlife Sanctuary, which houses tigers, leopards, hyenas, and over 300 species of birds.
Spend the night in Nashik.
Today, you will visit Shani Shingnapur. This village is famous for the Shani Shingnapur Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shani. The main deity is placed in an open place without a roof. Also, the houses within the village do not have doors as there is no theft—the locals believe that Lord Shani punishes people who go astray.
Spend the night in Nashik.
Today, you will drive to the Ajanta and Ellora Caves, which are about a 3-hour drive apart. These caves are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The site comprises 30 rock-cut Buddhist monuments carved between the 5th and 6th centuries BCE, with the earliest excavations around the 7th century BCE.
Return to Nashik to spend the night.
Today, you will explore the Ellora Caves, a series of rock-cut cave temples dating back from the 5th to the 12th centuries. The Ellora is also home to the Kailasa Temple, built during the 7th century by the Rashtrakuta King Krishna I. This is the largest monolithic rock-cut monument, 300 feet long and 175 feet wide.
You will also visit the Grishneshwar Temple, Bibi-ka-Maqbara, and the Daulatabad Fort during the Aurangabad tour.
