Indians are the world’s second-biggest gold buyers, thanks to its reputation as one of the safest investment options, believing gold to protect us from bad times. There’s no better place for gold lovers than Dubai, thanks to its duty-free shopping and vast gold souks and jewellery shops. Read on to learn more about jewellery shopping in Dubai. And if you want gold shopping included in your Dubai trip package itinerary, visit us.
Why Is Gold Cheaper in Dubai?
Unlike in India, people don’t have to think twice about the purity of gold in Dubai. Despite strict regulations, it is a known fact that gold adulteration is rampant in India, with jewellers even adding the BIS hallmark spuriously. Gold purchase is regulated by the government, with jewellers having to specify details such as karats and the actual weight of gold. Also, gold is cheaper in Dubai compared to other countries because of the exclusion of taxes. Buyers only pay for the value of the gold jewellery. While the government has recently introduced VAT, buying gold is still cheaper. Besides, you can claim VAT refunds in the UAE for gold purchased there. But more importantly, you can bargain by making gold charges.
