Upon your arrival at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, you will be greeted by our tour representatives. From the airport, they will drive you to Logrono, a city located in La Rioja. The places you will be visiting here include the Church of Santa Maria de Palacio and the Municipal Pilgrim’s Hostel.
Spend the night at the Parador Santo Domingo De La Calzada, a hotel which was once a 12th-century hospital. It was built by St. Dominic, who treated the pilgrims travelling on the Way of St. James.
On this day, you will get to expand your knowledge regarding wineries and the process of making wine. La Rioja is famed for being among the best wine-growing regions in the country. Travel to the Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture, where you can learn about the history and production of wine. Witness the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, San Millan Yuso and Suso Monasteries, before returning to your hotel for the night.
Today, make your way from Logrono to the city of Burgos. Visit the Burgos Cathedral, a Catholic church that is dedicated to the Virgin Mary situated in Burgos’ historical centre.
On the fourth day of your trip, depart Burgos and head towards Carrion de Los Condes to visit the Monastery of San Zoilo. After this, leave for Fromista where you can take in the architectural beauty of the church named San Martin de Fromista.
Your next stop will be the city of Leon, where you will be visiting the Monastery of San Pedro de Eslonza, the Church of Santa Ana, and the Church of El Mercado. Spend the night at the Hostal de San Marcos, a historic hostel whose construction started in the 16th century.
In the morning, drive to the city of Santiago De Compostela and visit its popular tourist attractions. On this day, you will also be exploring the numerous beautiful sites in Leon. These will include the Palace of Gaudi Astorga, the Cathedral of Santa María de Astorga, Ponferrada Castle, and Santo Tomas de las Ollas.
After relishing a scrumptious breakfast, leave to visit the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. This church is the burial site of Saint James the Great, who was one of the apostles of Jesus Christ. Boasting a Romanesque design, the structure also has Baroque and Gothic elements.
