After you land in Zurich, get on a train to Basel. Once you check in to your hotel and freshen up, you can venture out for the first round of sightseeing. Go to the Kunstmuseum Basel, home to the world's oldest public art collection. Experience the magic of theatre at Theater Basel. For the day's last stop, head over to Freie Strasse, the main shopping street in Basel. Don’t forget to dine at one of the many Gault Millau evaluated restaurants.
Once you leave your hotel in Basel, get on a train to Lucerne. After checking in to your hotel in Lucerne, you will board the Lake Lucerne cruise. While on the cruise, you can listen to the audio commentary detailing various places of interest, historical monuments, and the four surrounding cantons. Spend the night at your hotel in Lucerne. You can also use the Swiss Pass for an hour’s ride to explore Bern.
On the third day of your trip, take a ferry to Vitznau and reach Mt. Rigi on Europe’s first-ever mountain railway. You can choose to get back either by train or by boat. Spend the night at your hotel in Lucerne.
Check out of your hotel in Lucerne and reach the station to get on a train to the city of Zurich. After the check-in formalities, you can head out to witness Europe’s biggest waterfall, Rhine Falls. You can then spend the rest of the day walking around, visiting Zurich's shops, museums, and flea markets.
Check out from your hotel and head to the airport to board your flight back home.
